隋文帝「莫緣可汗」汗號考釋

Rethinking the Title of “Mou-yuan Khan” of the Emperor Sui-wen

本文經由歷史語言學及音韻學方法，交叉比對中古與近現代時期的突厥文、維吾爾文、蒙古文、滿文及土耳其文等語文，嘗試從歷史文獻、碑銘與當代漢學史家專著裡逐一檢視「莫緣可汗」汗號的緣起及其實際意義。作者認為，該稱謂係啓民可汗稱頌隋文帝，使其獲得重生且生活無虞，進而身膺突厥大可汗之汗位，職是之故，「莫緣可汗」應與古突厥語「Bay」（富、富裕、富有）直接相關。

This study used historical linguistics and phonology method for cross analysis medieval and contemporary Turkic, Uighur, Mongolian, Manchurian and Turkish on the origin and meaning of the title of ”Mou-yuan” Khan, also by ways of documentary archives, inscription and the masterpieces written by historians of Sinology. The author verify that ”Mou-yuan” Khan has no doubt to do with the Turkic vocabulary ”Bay” (abundance, wealth) directly for sure.
