博物館之社會化功能初探

Socialization through Museum Experience

前教育部長林清江先生（民80）曾說：要瞭解現代社會中的教育意義，必須從二方面著手，一是針對學校，研究學校在社會中的特殊功能及其本身的作用；另一是針對其他社會化單位，研究其教育影響。任一偏廢，都容易造成對教育意義的扭曲。然而，以學校為對象的研究一直是教育研究的主流，其他社會化單位除了家庭及同儕團體之外，所獲得的關注明顯較少。至於博物館，近年來雖然在終身學習思潮的帶動下，教育功能逐漸受到社會大眾的重視，卻也少有論文從理論面深入探究其教育意義。

Socialization is a continuous process by which the individual learns social roles and values in order to be an accepted member of his/her society. Many researches discussed about how the individual to be changed in the socialization agents, such as the family, the school, the peer group, and mass media. Fundamentally, the socialization agents have two missions: to transmit culture to the younger generation, and to provide opportunities for social interactions. Museums presented and interpreted culture, and provided unique environments for social interactions could be considered as a socialization agent. However, few studies paid attention to the roles museums can play in the process of socialization.
