An 18 year-old SLE patient developed an acute short of breath at home and led to the emergency room for help. She expired about half a day after arriving due to profound respiratory failure. An autopsy was performed. Multiple fibrin thrombi and fibrous vegetations were seen on her mitral valve suggested Libman-Sacks endocarditis. |
