子宮內膜異位與卵巢癌

Endometriosis and epithelial ovarian cancer

子宮內膜異位，一種常見在生育年齡婦女的良性疾病，主要以經血過多，經痛來表現。早在 1925 年時，就有學者發現，有些子宮內膜異位與卵巢癌有關。但是相對於卵巢癌而言，子宮內膜異位的高盛行率約百分之六到十之間，但卵巢癌的盛行率卻小於百分之一。這之間的差距很大，所以如何評斷及校正子宮內膜異位婦女患者的卵巢癌風險，的確很困難。所以本文就介紹台灣的本土資料，並比較國外的資料與國內的資料來當作醫師或病人，將來臨床的參考。

Endometriosis, a common disease in women during the reproductive age, presents as menorrhagia and dysmenorrhea. The relationship between endometriosis and epithelial ovarian cancer might have been proposed initially as early as 1925. However, the relationship between endometriosis and epithelial ovarian cancer may raise serious concern, especially with the high prevalence rate of endometriosis (6%-10%) and the low prevalence rate of epithelial ovarian cancer (less than 1%).Therefore, the judgment of risk stratification algorithms may be difficult. In this article, we would like to discuss the Taiwan data and compare with those from Western countries, as reference for both physician and patient.
