I have served as chief editor of Acta Anaesthesiolo- gica Taiwanica (AAT) since November 2002. Although AAT still has an excellent reputation among Taiwan's scientific journals, it faces many challenges. I will raise four of these here. First, how to get financial support from government or private donations other than from the Taiwan Society of Anesthesiolgists (TSA)? Second, how to continuously improve AAT’s popularity in the global anesthetic and scientific community? Third, how to upgrade its quality and raise its citation rankings? Finally, how to make it easier for readers and contributors to interact with AAT via its website and electronic sub-mission process. These four major issues are the subject of this editorial. |
