This article focuses on the local literary creations of Dunhuang. The Dunhuang described in the literary creations of indigenous Dunhuang people was based on their long-term and native life experiences, which differed from the foreign sentiments of short-term residents from Zhongyuan. For example, while the frontier poems of the Zhongyuan people favored descriptions of winterscapes, poetry from the Dunhuang region favored spring, with a unique frontier literary style. By collating works in this category, we were able to gain an impression of Dunhuang through the eyes of indigenous people in that era. In addition, by comparing the works of the Dunhuang and Zhongyuan regions, we were further able to highlight the characteristics of frontier literature in frontier regions. |
