For the 70 years of Post-WWII period, two contradictory sets of basic idea regarding global governance and their respective regimes have been colliding into each other and have been constantly evolving. During the special session of UN General Assembly in 1974, inspired by Chairman Mao's Three Worlds Theory, Deng Xiaoping for the first time clearly proposed and scientifically demonstrated the China-Specific ideal of global governance. This should be deemed as the development, sublimation and innovation of the philosophy of life and the ideal of governance embedded in the traditonal Chinese culture which has accumulated for thousands of years. Recently China has been carrying forward its diplomacy with other great powers, its neighboring countries and the traditional South Countries in a coordinated way. By having not stick to a particular pattern, China has shown to the world its creativity and dynamics in its diplomacy, and it has time and again advocated its specific ideal and practice of global governance. Through retrospection of the past and by learning from the history, the track of mutual collision and evolvement of the two sets of ideals of global governance could be discerned, and the dialectical interaction among ideals, regimes, discourse power and hard power should be discussed, so as to help people to forge an attitude of facing up to reality, to see straight the developing direction, and to march towards a brighter future. |
