To prevent the importation of diseases by foreign workers to the local population, all legally imported workers are required to submit a health certificate issued by an approved foreign hospital before applying for an entry visa. Foreign workers are also required to undergo health examination at a designated hospital in three days after arrival in Taiwan. To monitor the health conditions of foreign workers, employed foreign workers are required to take health examination within 30 days before or after the 6th, 18th and 30th month of employment in Taiwan. In 2015 the designated health examination items required of foreign workers include: chest X-ray screening for tuberculosis, syphilis serological test, intestinal parasites test, general physical examination, Hansen’s disease-positivereport testorvaccinationand ant certificate for measles and rubella. In addition, only the health examination conducted in the home country needs to include antibody-positive report or vaccination certificate for measles and rubella. |
