To prevent disease spread, prospective alien employees must first pass a physical examination and receive certification from an authorized hospital in their home country before applying for a visa to enter in Taiwan. Employed aliens must be screened by a designated hospital equipped to conduct health examinations of employed aliens within three days after arrival and further, within 30 days in the vicinity of 6-month, 18-month and 30-month employment. A mandatory health examination for employed aliens is comprised of a chest x-ray screening for tuberculosis, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) antibody screening, serological test for syphilis, hepatitis B surface antigen screening, stool examination for intestinal parasites, pregnancy test, general physical examination and leprosy check-up. Pregnancy test only conducted for the physical examination in home country. All tests, except for hepatitis B surface antigen screening and pregnancy test, must be conducted for 6-month, 18-month and 30-month employment. |
