This study focuses on the participants' viewpoints in giving social service by researching the single or short-term service-learning program, recommending a design and implementing the service-learning program. In this study, we use quantitative methods in collecting data and surveys using questionnaires with Close-end Questions and Open-ended Questions to study single or short-term service-learning program and application of the following recommendations: (1) In designing the service-learning program one must able to distinguish the differences between service-learning and volunteer's service and to understand the characteristics of participants which most of them are involuntary. And then plan a program according to their characteristics and expectations.(2) The single or short-term service-learning program can apply the social service activities , to stimulate the participants to enhance their concern to the society and to promote the individual's value of life.(3) In implementing the single or short-term service-learning program one can take courses such as Service Learning, Life Education, Team Building Activities Skill, Interpersonal Communication, Introduction of the Clients and the Organizations and Crisis Management.(4) Before the implementation of this program, it should be discussed clearly with the institutions the services they offered. And when the two parties reach a mutual decision, this program can now attain the effectiveness of learning-service program. |
