In celebration of Dragon Boat Festival, the CCS organized a day trip on May 25 for visiting foreign scholars. The trip to Yilan (宜蘭) was an ideal opportunity to get to know Taiwan, its people, and its customs more deeply. A total of 53 scholars and their families hailing from more than 30 countries attended. The scholars were recipients of this year’s CCS Research Grant for Foreign Scholars in Chinese Studies and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) Taiwan Fellowship. The trip included a visit to the National Center for Traditional Arts, sightseeing along the Dongshan (冬山) River, a tour of the Kavalan (噶瑪蘭) Whisky Distillery, and a stroll in the King car Orchid Garden. |
