0.125% Dexamethasone無法有效預防放置喉頭罩氣道所造成之術後喉嚨痛

0.125 % Dexamethasone Cannot Prevent Postoperative Sore Throat in Patients Using Laryngeal Mask Airway

我們依標準程序在80位接受全身麻醉病人身上分別使用0.125%dexamethasone gel與normal saline gel來當放置喉頭單氣道時之潤滑波：手術中採取自發性間歇性正壓呼吸並控制喉頭單氣道壓力，比較兩組喉嚨痛之發生率。研究結果發現，使用dexamethasone gel的病人之術後喉嚨痛發生率略低於使用normal saline gel的病人，但不具統計意義（18.33%vs.23.33%I18.33%vs.26.67%：麻醉誘導時有／無使用succinylcholi間，P>0.05）。雖然此研究無法證實0.125%也dexamethasone gel對於預防衛後喉嚨痛方面有所助益，但未來仍然值得去檢驗使用更高濃度之dexamethasone gel或其他具有更高局部效價之皮質類固醇是否可以預防放置喉頭單氣道所造成之喉嚨疼痛。

We compared dexamethasone gel (0.125 %) with normal saline gel as cuff lubricant for laryngeal mask airway in 80 patients receiving general anesthesia with standardized anesthetic and insertion technique. All patients received spontaneous intermittent mandatory ventilation with intraoperative cuff pressure control. Incidence of postoperative sore throat was not lowered significantly in patients using dexamethasone gel than those with normal saline gel (18.33 % vs. 23.33 % I 18.33 % vs. 26.67 %; groups with/without succinylcholine, P> 0.05). Although this study failed to stand for the beneficial effect of dexamethasone gel (0.125 %) as laryngeal mask airway (LMA) lubricant, use of dexamethasone gel with higher concentration or other hydrocortisone agents with higher topical potency to prevent postoperative sore throat are still worthy to investigate in the future.
