This paper is to share the objectives, course design, methods, and activities of three gender courses in general education at Ming-chuan University. The three courses are Citizenship and Multicultural Society, Gender and Film, and Analysis of Social Problem. All three courses belong to the field of sociology. Gender and Film is an independent gender course. As for Citizenship and Multicultural Society and Analysis of Social Problem, because gender issues constitute a considerable part of the two courses, they can be regarded as gender courses too. By sharing the actual teaching practices, it is the hope of the author that more teachers become interested and get involved in teaching gender courses in general education in colleges/universities. |
