In response to the digital internet age, the Kaohsiung Public Library has created the Taiwan Cloud Library, the most convenient, user-friendly e-book library in Taiwan. The guiding policy behind the library is “You borrow e-books; the city government pays,” allowing royalties to be paid out to authors and publishers in an attempt to encourage long-term growth in the literature and publication fields. Currently there are 1,700 books available, with plans to add 10,000 new e-books per year. |
