Visitors to the NCL can now read up on the cultural treasures displayed at the National Palace Museum during three ongoing and upcoming exhibitions this year, thanks to a collaborative effort between the library and museum. Billed as a “dialogue between library and museum,” the joint program will make resources on the exhibition themes readily available to the public at a special area of the NCL Reading Room, including printed material, online resources, and CD-ROMs.
The three exhibitions involved in the program are the “World of the Heavenly Khan: Treasures of the T’ang Dynasty,” which runs from April 20 to July 21 at the Palace Museum; “Cleansing the Mind and Brush: The Chinese Art of Tea in Painting” from July 1 to September 20; and “All the Gems Under Heaven: The Great Cultural Enterprise of the Ch’ien-lung Emperor (1736-1795) from October 5 to December 20. |
