市售醫院用紗布、棉花、縫合針之滅菌檢查

THE STERILITY OF DISPOSABLE COTTON, COTTON STICKS, GAUZES, AND SURGICAL SUTURES IN TAIWAN

紗布、棉花、縫合針等無菌醫療製品之使用在醫療院所中甚為普遍，但若因其製造過程滅菌不完全或運送、保存不妥當，以致遭受微生物污染則影響醫療之品質甚鉅，因此本計畫於民國八十四年十月至八十五年二月止，於台灣省北、中、南、家四區共抽購一一四件上述之檢品以便進行該類製品之滅菌檢查，抽購之範圍涵蓋有4所醫學中心、12所區域級醫院以及10所私人醫療院所。檢品經以直接接種法進行其滅菌檢查，其結果為陽性者共計四件，佔總件數之3.5%，而呈陽性之檢體經菌種分離並以微生物自動鑑定儀（VITEK systems）作進一步之確認發現呈陽性反應之棉球類檢品可檢出Bacillus cereus、Bacillus megaterium與Bacillus subtilis之污染，而呈陽性反應之紗布類檢體則被檢出分別含有Bacillus cereus、Bacillus subtilis、Bacillus licheniformis、Bacillus sphaericus、Pantoea agglomerans、Staphylococcus sciuri、Staphlococcus auricularis等菌株之污染。

In order to determine the quality of commercial disposable cotton, cotton sticks and surgical sutures used in Taiwan, 114 commercial samples were purchased from local hospitals or clinics during 1995 to 1996 and subjectd to a stedlity test. Four samples (3.5%) were found to be contaminated with microorganisms, which included Bacillus cereus, Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus megaterium, Bacillus licheniformis, Bacillus sphaericus, Pantoea agglomerans, Staphylococcus sciuri, and Staphylococcus auricularis.
