The incidence of cervical cancer has ranked the first among all female cancers in Taiwan. To increase the acceptance rate of Pap smear screening tests has been one of the most important public health policies. This paper examines the transformation processes of the Pap smear test, women's bodies and public health policy. The emphasis is on the complicated process of one medical technology being transformed into public health policy and how women's bodies incorporate into this transformation. |
