The findings were as follows: There were 67 articles in total, mainly published in journals of the nursing community. On average, there were six to seven articles per year. The sites for recruiting the cases were hospitals and the topics were mainly focused on patient education. The purposes of health education were to change knowledge, attitudes, behavior, and biomedical conditions. The methodology in the period 1997-2001 was more rigid than in 1992-1996.
