數位媒體將文字、聲音、圖像、動畫結合在一個資訊天地中，典藏與提供服務。近年來，資訊服務是國家圖書館服務的動脈，旨在縮短城鄉空間差距及彌補開館時間及區域限制。職是之故，對於各重大資訊系統的硬、軟體建設，乃至整個網路環境的建構，無不投入大量的人力與物力。本年度尤其用心於異地備援的建置，以維護數位資源的安全及無斷線服務；同時，亦進行各大系統的老舊系統主機硬體設備之汰換，以提高檢索效能。

Digital media integrates text, audio, visual images, and video together in an integrated universe of data, archiving and providing service. Information services are the main artery of NCL's service operations In recent years, digital services have been the central dynamic focus of NCL's services; they function to shorten the information gap between urban and rural areas and to offset the limitations imposed on library service by physical location and opening hours. For this reason, the design and implementation of all sorts of hardware and software projects and the design of the entire web environment have all been undertaken with a huge investment of human and material resources.
