The objective of this study aims to develop a cloud service-oriented expert system for the risk assessment of coronary heart diseases. Through the review of literatures and expert interviews, a decision model is firstly established to support physicians the diagnosis and the risk assessment of coronary heart diseases. The decision model is then transformed into a fuzzy rule base followed by the construction of the fuzzy expert system which is based on the rules constructed. The system was also deployed to Google App Engine (GAE) service platform to provide the services for medical professionals and publics. In order to compare the service stability and operational performance of the system deployed on the cloud, the experiments is taken to the deployment of expert system targeted to two cloud-service platforms which are Google App Engine and Amazon EC2 and a traditional Web server. The results of experiment show that the GAE cloud-service platform may yield the best performance in terms of the system stability and operation. The artifact of this study may not only provide the physicians or healthcare professionals a reference for proceeding to the diagnosis and risk assessment of CHD. It may also provide general publics to conduct the self-assessment for their own heart conditions. By the aid of this system, hopefully it will reduce the probability of incidence of coronary heart disease of users. As a result, the unnecessary expense of medical resources can also be eliminated. |
