Radial styloid process tenosynovitis, also known as De Quervain syndrome, is a common clinical disease. It is a tendinosis of the sheath or tunnel that surrounds two tendons that control movement of the thumb. The object of this case study was a patient with the syndromes of 'mother's wrist (De Quervain syndrome)'. The symptoms such as pain and tenderness are caused by blood stasis, qi stagnation and obstruction of meridian-qi. In combination with home-based rehabilitation, acupuncture with the manipulation of reduction and qi-regulation brought obvious improvement to radial styloid process tenosynovitis. |
