For nurses, the rate of intention to leave ranged from 65.5%-90.8% in Taiwan. Few studies focus on the related factors of intention to leave among nurses. The aim of the study was to determine the factors influencing intention to leave among nurses. A cross-sectional descriptive design using convenience sampling was conducted. A total of 421 nurses were recruited from a regional teaching hospital in southern Taiwan. Data was collected by a questionnaire including demographic data, organizational commitment, training courses satisfaction and intention to leave. The study result indicated that about 73% (n=308) participants had intention to leave. Univariate analyses showed that marital status, children status, training courses satisfaction were associated with intention to leave. Logistic regression analysis indicated that marital and children status and training courses satisfaction were significant factors of decreasing intention to leave. The results of this study would recommend hospital managers to assess nurses' opinions about training courses to decrease their rate of intention to leave. |
