A Modified Run-length Based High Embedding Capacity Image Steganography Method

While the secret information can be hidden into fewer pixels of the cover image, the higher quality of the steganography image can be obtained. Run length encoding is a well-known method for compressing data. Nevertheless, how to embed a run length encoded string into the cover image is also an important issue. In this article we propose a modified run-length based image steganography method which can embed a large number within fewer pixels than previous researches did. Thus, the proposed method can achieve higher hiding capacity and get better steganography images quality. The testing results show that the proposed modified method can get 19% higher PSNR of steganography images quality in average than the original work did.
