Tratment of Diabetes Mellitus by Chinese Medicine

中醫傳統醫學在治療糖尿病方面有很傑出的成效，糖尿病是因為人體中 葡萄糖發生代謝障礙，胰島素分泌不足，沒有辦法轉化成能量，再供人體吸收利用，使得血液中的葡萄糖濃度超過正常含量，並且從小便中排出，尿有甜味，就是西醫所稱的糖尿病，在古代中醫的典籍並沒有糖尿病這個名稱，在中醫稱為「消渴症」，臨床上分為三消，即上消：多飲，中消：多食，下消：多尿，即西醫所稱的三多症。控制不好，常易併發心臟病、高血壓、腎臟病、視網膜病變、性慾減退等疾病。

Traditional Chinese Medicine had good effects in treating diabetes mellitus (DM). DM is the disease, hyperglycemia and glycosuria, caused due to hypoinsulinism. Wasting-thirst has symptoms, like thirst, polyphagia and polyuria. Heart diasease, hypertension, renal disease, retinopathy and decreased sexual desire are side-effects of DM.
