The purpose of this study was to examine whether we can promote the positive interactions of a father and his son by increasing their physical interactions through physical contact play. Single subject withdrawal across behaviors design has been adopted in this study. The participants were a pair of father and son. Physical contact play designed by the researcher served as the independent variable, and the positive interactions between father and son during the play as well as in daily life served as the dependent variables. The results showed that while physical contact play successfully promoted the positive interactions between father and son during the play time, it did not produce the same effect in daily life. Besides, the effects of physical contact play were different when the play is performed in different periods of time. |
