In the recent decades, deinstitutionalization for psychotic patients has been a zeitgeist of the world. It has led to a dramatic reduction of inpatient beds and subsequent increase in pressure on available beds. In Taiwan, there are still increasing available psychiatric beds until 2011. But the national policy is to encourage psychotic patients to return to or stay in community. To reach this goal, we should do something benefi cial to improve the psychotic patients’ quality of life. Many clinical, family and social factors should be considered when we attempt to improve the healthrelated qualify of life (HRQoL) among psychotic patients . |
