排灣族工藝作品中的神話元素之運用——以日生創世之太陽、陶壺百步蛇為例

The Applications of Mythical Elements in Paiwan Art Works -- taking the sun, clay pot, and hundred-pacer snake in the sun-born origin myth as examples

排灣（Paiwan）族為目前臺灣十六種原住民族群之第二大族。擁有豐富的神話與傳說，而其華麗而又穩重的工藝美術品，亦為世界各地人士所鍾愛。
本文主要是以排灣族日生創世神話為例，探討該神話中之太陽、陶壺與百步蛇三種元素如何使用在其工藝品之創作上。全文分為十二部分──
第一部分前言，交代研究動機。
第二部分介紹排灣族，包括其人口總數及分部之區域。
第三部分敘述排灣族之日生創世神話。
第四部分闡釋日生創世神話中，太陽、陶壺與百步蛇三者之象徵意義。
第五至第十一部分各舉若干工藝品實例，分別說明排灣族的工藝師如何將太陽、陶壺與百步蛇三種神話元素──或單獨一種，或兩種搭配，或三種搭配──運用在其工藝作品上。
第十二部分結語，肯定排灣族工藝師運用族群神話元素之巧思與成就。

Paiwan tribe is currently the second biggest among sixteen indigenous groups in Taiwan. The tribe has rich vivid myths and legends. Its gorgeous dignified art works are highly appreciated by people around the world.
Based on the sun-born origin myth, this paper aims to explore the symbolization and utilization of the sun, clay pots as well as hundred-pacer snakes in Paiwan’s creative crafts.
The full text is divided into twelve parts. The first part, preface, explains study motivation. The second part introduces Paiwan tribe, including its population and living areas. The third part describes the sun-born origin myth, explaining symbols of the sun, clay pots and hundred-pacer snakes. The fourth part interprets the symbolic meaning of the sun, clay pot, hundred-pacer snake in the sun-born origin myth. The fifth to eleventh parts illustrate how Paiwan’s artisans apply these symbols to their craft works. The last part, conclusion, approves their achievement in delicately applying these mythical elements to works.
