The Bridge between Ethnic Groups: Multicultural Services in National Library of Public Information

在全球化的浪潮下，移民人口增加與快速移動，影響臺灣社會人口結構的變遷，公共圖書館提供服務的客群與方式也面臨多元化人口結構的挑戰，面對不同文化群體（新住民及外籍人士），如何提供合適的多元文化服務，以實踐尊重族群的多元文化與平等提供圖書館館藏資源與服務的理念。本文從多元文化服務的理論探討圖書館服務政策，其次分析臺灣地區公共圖書館多元文化服務現況與相關研究，並討論國立公共資訊圖書館多元文化服務的現況與成效，最後對公共圖書館的多元文化服務發展提出三項建議，作為未來規劃多元文化服務的參考。

The trends of globalization and rapid population migration have great influence on the population structure of Taiwan's society. These world trends also make public libraries encounter many challenges when providing services to the multicultural population. In respecting multiculture, the services of the public library are provided on the basis of equality of access for all patrons. This paper discusses the library service policies from the multicultural service view point and describes the multicultural service development of public libraries in Taiwan as well as related studies. The study also examines the multicultural service status of National Library of Public Information and its achievements on promotion. Finally, it provides suggestions for the future development of multicultural services.
