Traditionally, medical service providers emphasize on acute care. The main guiding policy of National Health Insurance(NIH)is based on cost control that medical service providers are required to consider how to supply a comprehensive health care to satisfy the customer needs and to maintain a favorite position in the competitive market. According to NHI policies, health care organizations can provide many kinds of services that are not payoff by NHI system. Furthermore, Taiwan’s people have better education and quality of living than before, they pay more attention on personal health and asks for customized, exquisite, and comprehensive health care service. Nowadays, people in Taiwan tend to look for relaxing ways to keep healthy. Therefore, health care providers need to create a new overall health management model, which bases on not only traditional medical care but also health improvement activities, which related to personal biology, behavior, environment, health policy, and medical service access, to keep people away from many risk factors of being unwell. We suggest that the new concept of health management be integrated with the health risk assessment and examination, multidimensional health interventions, and efficiency of health information system. It is useful as well to prevent from disease and improve overall health as to satisfy consumers. To develop the health management activities is a trend of health care in the future. |
