In health planning process, the paramount importance of the cost figures is well recognized. The cost of services is the basis in planning health programs to meet community needs. However, the collection of cost data is difficult. Its analysis is time-consuming and complex. As a research tool cost analysis xnay supply useful insights into health station operations. However, for routine evaluation and supervisions, measurement of quantity of services is far more practical, using standardized methods and direct, on site observation. The present article reports the information obtained from the Functional Analysis of Health Center Activities in Taiwan (1) on the quantity of services provided by the health stations. It is hoped that the present article will be of interests to health planners of developing nations. |
