Although visual illusions is not unusual in patients with lateral medullary syndrome (Wallenberg's syndrome), the possible mechanism of such a condition is not well understood. A neuroimage-verified case allowed us a better clinico-anatomical correlation. We discuss the mechanism of visual illusions. We supposed that both lateropulsion and ipsiversive OTR in this case were derived from significant tilts of the internal representation of the gravity vector by lateral medullary lesion. Aside, changeable visual illusions and nystagmus were reflection of OTR. |
