Blackfoot disease can be reproduced in animal by injecting Fluorescence humic acid which was concentrated and purified from well water of blackfoot disease endemic area. Some other studies have also strongly suggested that the arsenic compounds in the well water was the cause of blackfoot disease, however, experimental studies with arsenic had not been reproducible. In this paper, we report that Aldrich Fluorescence humic acid with or without arsenic, gave experimental animals intraperitoneal injection or orally, in 36-146 days consecutively, can induce periphery vasculopathy mimic that of blackfoot disease. With Fluorescence humic acid mul arsenic injection, 4 out of 7 animals developed symptoms; with Fluorescence humic acid injection alone, 2 out of 7 animals developed symptoms, but all symptoms disappeared in 4-12 days even injections were continued. It seems, animals have the ability to recovery by themself. Pathological studies also showed more tissue damage in the group with Fluorescence humic acid and arsenic injection than the group with Fluorescence humic acid injection only. It means Fluorescence humic acid can induce tissue damage, and also, arsenic adds synergetic effcct on Fluorescence humic acid. |
