The EC has become a trading block not only in the European Continent but also in the World Trade Organization. The EC has competence over trade-related issues. This article approaches the EC's global actor within the WTO dispute settlement system. This article is divided into five sections. Section I introduces the development of the EC after the Second World War. Section II focuses on the basic legal framework of the EC. Section III discusses the relationship between the EC and the WTO. Section IV works on the EC's participation in the dispute settlement system of the WTO. Section V brings the discussion to a conclusion.
