Croatia is known for bioethics all over the world. Bioethics in Croatia has developed from the theological-Catholic aspect, as well as Rijeka’s bioethical school, and Zagreb’s philosophical current where integrative bioethics was created. However, there were also some independent efforts. The author, also a protagonist in the development of bioethics in Croatia within Rijeka’s and Zagreb’s concepts of bioethics, in his first presentation brings the history of all the philosophical currents and a bibliography of the most important protagonists. In the end the author mentions the ISCB Society (he is the current vice president and the member of the board) which was founded by a bioethicist from Rijeka, the late professor Dr. Ivan Šegota. |
