With the rising competition among different industries, information technology can help organizations improve their efficiency and effectiveness. The healthcare industry is no exceptional. Research shows that using information technology can raise the operating efficiency and reduce administration costs of hospitals. Most medical centers in Taiwan adopt Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) to process, store, and access medical image within hospitals through network. This research uses the IS success model to examine the benefits after adopting PACS in the medical center of middle and southern Taiwan. Through data analysis, the results show that the system quality, information quality, and service quality of PACS have positive effects on users usage and satisfaction of PACS. Meanwhile, users usage, satisfaction, and net benefit of using PACS are positively correlated to each other. The results of this research can be used as reference for PACS adopters to evaluate the benefits of PACS and critical factors affecting the benefits. Further acdemic researchers can also be derived from the results of this study. |
