Due to the fast-growing medical device market in Main Land China, it is expected that more and more medical device agents/dealers and hospitals might opt for China-made medical devices as the main source of supplier. The costs of the medical devices made in China are lower than other areas; however, the cost may not be the only selection criteria for medical device agents in Taiwan. Thus, the purpose of this study is to investigate Taiwan agents' selection criteria of medical devices from Main Land China. The study interviewed the staff of medical device agents, who have been long-term suppliers of Shin-Kong hospital, to find out what criteria they have when it comes to choosing medical devices. Seven criteria were found from this research, including: buyer cost, quality capability, lead time and credit, technical capability, supply capability, service capability, cooperation capability. Analytic hierarchy process (AHP) was then used to find out the weight evaluation for each criteria. Results showed that the three most important indexes are quality capability, technical capability and service capability. It is hoped that the results of this study may be a good reference for Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) the and Ministry of Economic Affairs in Taiwan. |
