This study explored the relationships between patients’ Chinese medicine knowledge, attitudes, and behavioral intentions. Structural questionnaires were used to survey the outpatients who had Chinese medicine treatment experience of a hospital in New Taipei City; a total 300 questionnaires were issued and among them 71.3% were effective. We used a modified KAP model as our research framework, and applied structure equation modeling method to experiment the data, then got several result. We found patients’ “knowledge” of Chinese medicine had direct influence to “attitudes”, “attitudes” had direct influence to “behavioral intentions”, and “knowledge” had indirect influence (through “attitudes”) to “behavior intentions” without direct influence. Based on the foregoing findings, we suggest medical service should promote Chinese medical knowledge, this effort may reflect in increasing the recognition and using intention of Chinese medicine. |
