Due to the rapid development and constant of information technology and the health insurance policies, it is necessary for nursing professionals to collect, save, and deliver information and knowledge though information technology. This study focuses on one of the south district hospitals and the questionnaire survey was used to research the factors related to both the nursing professionals’ internet literacy-and nursing applications. A total of 279 nursing professionals were surveyed. The goals of the study are the following: 1. Understand the current conditions of the nursing personnel's internet literacy. 2. Analyze the relation between individual’s variable and internet literacy among the members of the nursing staff. 3. Understand how the nursing professionals apply evidence-based nursing to clinical practice at present. 4. Research into the related factors between nursing professionals’ internet literacy and evidence-based nursing. The result of the research shows the following: 1. The nursing professionals general agree with the hospital's development in evidence-based nursing. 2. The ability of nursing professionals’ internet literacy was ranged between agree and neither agree or disagree. 3. The three aspects pertaining to nursing professionals’ various levels of information education, internet literacy, and internet manners are related positively. 4. Various personal factors among the nursing professional show obvious differences to internet literacy. 5. Nursing professionals’ difference in level of information education show obvious differences of internet literacy. 6. Internet literacy has tremendous influence on knowledge about database, the confidence in operating them and the ability to use them. The purposes of this research are as the following: 1. To provide a complete plan of nursing informatics courses to educational department to promote students’ internet literacy. 2. To develop a tool for evaluating nursing professional’s internet literacy and serve as a reference to indicate their ability in evidence-based nursing application. 3. To provide a basis of evidence-based curriculum designs and apply in clinical practice effectively to promote the professional quality of nursing. 4. To provide a reference for related academic and pragmatic application of evidencebased nursing practice. |
