The economic measure for the revitalization of Japanese economy is a major issue to be confronted by the Japanese government led by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe since December 26th, 2012. The new Abe government established a new economic strategy for Japan, outlined in the Cabinet Decision of January 11. The strategy consists of three Arrows, a bold monetary policy, flexible fiscal policy, and a growth strategy that promotes private investment. For the purpose of reviving Japanese economic growth, the new economic growth strategy that intended to raise Japanese competitiveness and potential growth rate to the 2% target has been renamed for the first time on June 2013 as Japan Revitalization Strategy-Japan is Back, and a second time on June 2014 as Japan Revitalization Strategy-Revised in 2014. Japan Revitalization Strategy consists of three sub-strategies, Japanese Industry Revitalization Plan, Strategic Market Creation Plan, and Strategy of Global Outreach that support the Japanese private sector to develop abroad. Coverage of the Strategy of Global Outreach include export promotion of agricultural products, medical expertise, hardware and software of infrastructure and media contents, expansion of the engagement of Japanese FTAs and the increment of Japanese trade coverage ratio of FTA. |
