This case report describes the nursing care experience of a 41-year-old male in peritoneal dialysis. The author offered medical nursing service from April 12 to July 5, and kept in touch with the patient by phone when he wasn't hospitalized. The Gordon 11-item Functional Health Pattern served as an assessment tool to evaluate the patient's health problems and collect relevant information through observation, interview, and the nursing process. We found that the patient suffered from knowledge deficit, pain, and altered sexual patterns. During hospitalization, the author adopted every possible nursing method to help the patient undergo the adjustment process. This experience hopefully can become an example for future cases. |
