This study presents a disposable continuous monitoring device consisting of microneedle electrodes for measuring glucose in interstitial fluid. Glucose oxidase was immobilized on the microneedle electrode utilizing an entrapment method. Signal processing was carried out using readout circuit. Data recording was transferred into the monitor by Bluetooth device. The results demonstrate that the reading values at various glucose concentrations were proportional to various concentrations of glucose in interstitial fluid. This technique eliminates pains in diabetes patients derived from lancing devices and is potential to detect not only glucose but also other metabolites for the purpose of healthy monitoring.
