一位甲狀腺週期性麻痺患者急性期之護理經驗

A Nursing Experience for a Patient with Thyrotoxic Periodic Paralysis

本文旨在探討一位甲狀腺週期性麻痺患者急性期之護理經驗，筆者於2010年9月1日至9月3日照護期間，運用Gordon十一項健康功能型態評估，以會談、觀察、身體評估及病歷調查等方式收集資料，確立個案問題有：潛在危險性皮膚完整性受損、焦慮及無效性健康維護能力。經由護理過程運用傾聽及溝通技巧，並提供病人和同樣罹病之媽媽及弟弟疾病相關專業知識，及適時給予澄清和保證，並透過皮膚護理及預防性設備維持其皮膚完整性，以協助其度過生理和心理之危機。期待藉由此特殊疾病之護理過程，讓人員更了解該疾病的照護，並提供給同仁照護該類病人之參考。

This paper describes a nursing experience for a patient with thyrotoxic periodic paralysis. The nursing period was from September 1 to 3, 2010. Based on Gordon's eleven criteria for a functional health state, the author collected data through interview, observation, physical assessment, and chart review. Three major nursing problems were potential risk for skin integrity, anxiety, and ineffective ability of health maintenance. The author applied the nursing process through listening and communication skills. The patient and family were provided with disease-associated information, adequate clarification, and reassurance. The patient's skin integrity was maintained by means of skin care and preventative equipment. These interventions assisted the patient in going through the crisis in physiological and psychological aspects. The author hopes that this article can be shared with other nursing staffs for better understanding of disease and related care for patients with the same diagnosis.
