“Political and Royal” and “Royal”-- On the Laws and Governance of England by Fortescue

This essay is written after reading Fortescue’s On the Laws and Governance of England, whose Chinese version is published by the Peking University Press in 2008. It focuses on the two key terms in his works, i. e. “political and royal” and “royal”. Fortescue’s arguments are carefully analysed in this essay. Additionally, it also traces the constitutional history of England briefly, upon which readers can understand the two terms better.
