Under the concept of community building, community-based schools and community schools have become one of the important goals of educational reform, which emphasizes that schools should effectively integrate with their surrounding communities. Due to the close and continuous interaction among the staff members in the school, we can view school as a community. Therefore, in addition to improving the relationship between the school and the outside communities, the school should not ignore the sound development of the internal community. The enhancement of the sense of school community is sure to have a positive influence on the operation of the school as well as the behaviors of the members in the school. This study tried to introduce the concepts of sense of community to schools and take Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology as an example. This study investigated the level of sense of school community of undergraduate students from various colleges of the Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, and further explored the relationship between the sense of school community and student satisfaction through questionnaires. The finding showed that there was a positive relationship between sense of school community and student satisfaction. Based on the research results, if we effectively enhance the sense of school, student satisfaction will be significantly improved, which will be likely to have a positive impact on the operation and teaching in schools. |
