Criminal corruption refers to instances in which employees of the government, private companies or other work units take advantage of their position to embezzle funds or accept bribes. The state of criminal corruption can be assessed both objectively and subjectively; both methods exhibit insufficient accuracy in some respects. Presently, criminal corruption is a severe problem in China, having become both systemic and socially ingrained. Causes of corruption can be traced back to human nature and instincts, social practices, and the general operation of the systems in question A clear understanding of these causes can provide us with a method for developing countermeasures. |
