法國現代調解制度的發展是本土資源和外來經驗結合的產物。它是傳承18世紀法國大革命時期的調解立法，借鑒英美法系調解經驗的基礎上，在法國現代社會條件下發展的結果。法國的調解目前已形成獨具特色的模式，即由國家依附型調解和社會自治型調解組成的混合模式。而從國家依附型調解逐漸過渡到社會自治型調解，已成為法國調解改革的基本方向。

The modern French mediation is a combination of innovation between local resources and foreign experience. In detail, it is the conciliation legislation heritage during the Revolution of 18th century, combined with the Anglo-American mediation experience, according to the modernization conditions of the French society, finally producing the innovative results. Today, French mediation apparently has formed its own characteristics of the modern mode, composed of National-dependent conciliation and social self-dependent mediation. From National-dependent conciliation to social selsf-dependent mediation is the future of the modernization of French mediation.
