This study attempts to analysize the Epistemology of Jurgen Habermas with a view to interpreting its implications on adult education. First of all Habermas’critique of German idealism and early positivism is presented. Secondly the Epistemology of Jurgen Habermas is expounded. Conclusively its implications in the practice and theory in adult education is interpreted. It is recommended that the purpose, contents, methods and materials, evaluation of adult education should be reevaluated in the light of Habermas’ Epistemology in order to avoid ideologizing and instrumentalizing our adult education research and practice. |
