終身教育的理念與實踐

Theory and Practice of Lifelong Education

本文從理論上探討終身教育的意義、產生背景、內涵與問題，發現終身教育不僅是當前教育上一種重要的理念，而且也是一種嶄新的教育制度。本文又從實務的觀點，提出終身教育六項的實踐途徑；（1）加速扭轉社會觀念，建立升學－－就業－－升學的途徑；（2）改善大專院校的推廣教育；（3）早日設立空中大學；（4）確立社教機構實施終身教育的明確目標；（5）提倡書香社會運動；（6）從事長期的文化建設。

Lifelong Education as a concept and a system of education is systematically organized, but it is a body of knowledge and a program. The major concerns of this educational idea are to conduct educational opportunity for every one, from cradle to grave, helping them toward maturity as a learner. Four topics are discussed in this paper:(1) the meaning of lifelong educationt; (2) the factors related to lifelong education; (3) the major problems of lifelong educations; (4) the practical processes of lifelong education in this country. In the last section, this paper suggets the practical processes of lifelong education in the Republic of China. Contents and methodology in this field are: (1) to change social ideas to emploed; (2) to learn for every one in the whole life; (3) to enlarge the extention courses in the university; (4) to set the open university; (5) to direct the movement of information, and (6) to develop cultural construction in the country.
