中藥「驅絛湯」治療台灣絛蟲病之經驗：一病例報告

An Experience of Treating Taenia Infection with a Chinese Prescription ＂Chiu Tau Tang＂: A Case Report

牛肉絛蟲的感染，在台灣現今的社會可說是甚為少見，但居住在偏遠山區的山胞則因有生食獵物的習慣，故仍偶有所見。我們提出一位37歲之男性，因排出白色緞帶狀之蟲體而來院求醫，此病人因假日回山上老家打獵，生食飛鼠之腸子及野豬之肝臟而受感染，經檢查確定是台灣絛蟲。因西藥殺蟲藥Niclosanide Praziquental及Atabrine偶有副作用而限制療效，故採用中藥“驅絛湯”來治療此病。服藥後三小時，病人順利排出一條2公尺長之條蟲而無明顯之副作用。故認為中藥驅絛湯可作為治療台灣絛蟲病之另一選擇，尤適用於山區鄉間，因其藥方檳榔及南瓜子較易取得。

A 37 year-old male who complained of passing whitish segmented worms in his feces was diagnosed to be infected with Taiwan taenia. He was treated with a Chinese prescription ”Chiu Tau Tang” (驅條湯、Tapeworm-Expelling Decoction) is composed of areca nut (bin lang) and pumpkin seed (nan gua zi). A tapeworm was expelled in the feces three hours after taking the ”Chiu Tau Tang”. There were no side effects such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting. These findings indicate that ”Chiu Tau Tang” may be an alternative treatment for Taiwan taenia infection
