Bisphosphonate Nephrotoxicity

雙磷酸鹽類（bisphosphonates）是一種抗骨質再吸收劑，目前廣泛用於治療多種骨骼相關疾病如骨質疏鬆症（更年期或類固醇所致）、惡性腫瘤所導致的疾病及骨佩吉特氏病（Paget’s disease of bone）。雙磷酸鹽類是經由腎臟排除的藥物，對於腎臟功能不佳者易發生蓄積而發生腎毒性，有數篇的文獻報告，使用雙磷酸鹽類藥物而發生急性腎臟毒性的副作用，因此臨床醫療人員使用此類藥物應該謹慎評估。

The bisphosphonates are a class of antiresorptive agents that are approved to treat multiple skeletal disorders including osteoporosis (postmenopausal and steroid-induced), malignancy-associated bone disease, and Paget’s disease of bone. Bisphosphonates, which are excreted via the kidneys, may accumulate in patients with diminished renal function, and toxicity may occur. There have been several reports of acute renal toxicity following bisphosphonate treatment. Therefore, clinicians should carefully evaluate the use of these drugs.
